Sodium Orthosilicate (Na4SiO4) is the strongest alkaline member of the silicate family with Na2O content exceeding 58.5%. It appears as a white, non-toxic, odorless granular or powder inorganic compound that is readily soluble in water but insoluble in alcohols and acids.
Its aqueous solution is strongly alkaline, delivering significantly higher alkalinity than Sodium Metasilicate. The product is hygroscopic and absorbs moisture from the air. It exhibits excellent detergency, emulsifying, dispersing, wetting, and penetrating properties with outstanding pH buffering capacity.
