What is Sodium Metasilicate?▼
Sodium Metasilicate is an inorganic silicate salt that functions as an alkaline builder. It is widely used in detergents, industrial cleaners, metal treatment, textile processing, and construction materials for its cleaning, water-softening, and dispersion properties.
What is the difference between Anhydrous and Pentahydrate?▼
Anhydrous Sodium Metasilicate (Na₂SiO₃) contains no crystal water and provides higher active content (approx. 51% Na₂O) for concentrated formulations. Sodium Metasilicate Pentahydrate (Na₂SiO₃ · 5H₂O) is the crystalline form with 28.7–30% Na₂O, widely used for conventional detergent and industrial applications.
